Me & Free Masonry

Being a member of the International Order of DeMolay. It is but natural, I suppose for me to desire to become a Free Mason. Inspired by the tenets and teachings of DeMolay, I ventured to officially submit my application for petition of degrees to the Don Antonio Cosin Memorial Lodge No. 308 in Cagayan de Oro City, which is under the Grand Lodge of the Philippines last July of 2012.

My journey has been fruitful, educational and nonetheless, life-changing.  Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have described in my article about some of my basic beliefs.  It is both futile and senseless to compare the Church with that of Free Masonry, since both organizations have different purposes and yet seek the ultimate goal- the happiness of man.  Suffice to say, being a Free Mason definitely can help one to be strong in their faith, no matter the denomination.

Here is the wonderful symbol of our Lodge.

I was initiated, passed and finally raised last October 30, 2013.  It has been a pleasure to finally grace an official stated meeting and to be able to cast a vote to new set of officers that have been elected to govern our Lodge for the Masonic year of 2014.

Our Christmas party was filled with laughter, music and gratitude as we thank God for another year that has been bestowed to each and everyone of us.

Here is an interesting glimpse of that socialization through a joyful slide show presentation:

Here's to an interesting journey in brotherhood!
